DBT Group for Teens

Teen DBT Skills Group with therapist,
Alyssa Haggerty

Who: Teens, ages 14-17.

What: DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) psychoeducational skills group that teaches core mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Please note: This is a skills group; not an intensive DBT program.

Please read Sentier's writing about What is DBT?

When: Thursdays: July 12th, 2018 to September 13th from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
Please note there is no group on Wednesday, August 16th.

Where: Sentier Psychotherapy
670 Cleveland Ave. S.
St. Paul, MN 55116
(Highland Park neighborhood: Above Highgrove Dental; next to CorePower Yoga; across the street from Cecil's Deli).

Why: So that teens can learn to identify thinking patterns that often lead to extreme emotions, impulsiveness and self-destructive behavior. Group will teach coping skills that can be used to control thoughts, tolerate distress and effectively communicate with others.

How: If you have a teen who is interested in participating in this group, please email Alyssa Haggerty at or call 763.913.8261 x4 to schedule an intake session. Intake session must be completed one week prior to group starting.

Fees: $75 per group session. Client is charged for missed sessions, as group attendance is critical. Insurance reimbursement receipts are automatically provided to clients in our online client portal.

*Please note that this is not a full, DBT intensive program. The group does not include individual weekly therapy with a DBT therapist or phone coaching calls between sessions. This is a psychoeducational group that has been condensed into 10 weeks and does not cover every DBT skill.
